Are You Biking To Work? FatBoyz ContentMeeting this Friday at O'Skis for the Poker Run
Feb 5, 2010 - Friday @ 3 pmOkay this meeting will take place this Friday. Anyone interested in the process please be there. Also we will use this meeting to discuss the Chico trip.Riding in the DarkI was riding the bike path three weeks ago in the dark and almost crashed and burned. So I did some research and added a few things to my bike.$2 Adjustable Fork-mounted Supplementary Bike Lights from the Dollar Store. Article on how can to put together can be found HERE. I found the clip lights at the Dollar Store near Save Mart on McCarron near Mae Anne. Trust me - I am the worst mechanic so if I can put this together - anyone can! For two bucks now I can see what the heck is going on around the front of my bike. On a side note the Bar Mitts are the greatest thing for keeping your hands warm in the cold mornings!!
May 1, 2010 - Fat Boy Poker RunWe have 5 people already registered!!Registration is now open online at Active.com and on our Website. Early registration is only $12. If you register the day of the event the cost will be $20. Please register early and help spread the word. We are thinking about offering a prize to the one who refers the most people to the event. Last year we had over 100 riders and we were able to donate over $2,000 to Dilworth Middle School. The goal this May is to have 200 plus riders and to raise $3,000 for the school.
Active.com ReviewsWe have two Reviews up!!!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 7:20:53 AM kjanson said: This was a great ride! It was well organized, had friendly riders, and a relaxed ride for a great donation. I can't wait for this year's ride to be even bigger! If you participated in the Poker Run last year could you please go to Fat Boy Biking Poker Run Reviews and put in a review of the event. I think if people read some reviews that it will help persuade them to join us this May. I know this is a local event but last year we had eight people from out of state join us on our Poker Run.
May 21, 2010 - Bike to Work DayNothing new here.Chico Wildflower - April 26, 2010There are a few of us going to this event. This is an awesome biking adventure. Rides range from 65 to 100 miles in the hills to 15 to 60 miles on the flat land. Early Registration is suggested and that is not a joke. Last year I was stupid enough to wait till the day of the event and they would not let me register because the event was full. I still rode the race but if I had problem or wanted some refreshments - I was on my own. What makes this such an adventure? Last year registration was full which is unbelievable when you consider that they had 3,500 registered riders and I know of at least one who biked it on his own. 3,500 people on a bike in one area, all starting within two hours of each other was a great sight. If you are interested in car pooling let me know. Some of us are looking at driving down the morning of and staying there Sunday night. Some of us are looking at going down the day before and coming back after the race. Right now we have five going. Maybe more! For more information: Chico Wildflower - April 26, 2010
Reno-Tahoe Odyssey - June 4, 2010I have been walking and some light jogging. Got the bike out last week and biked to work and cruised around this past weekend. Time to get in shape.Question here - I am looking at buying those bare shoes. They say the workout is like running in sand. Is that true? Any feedback would be nice. |
