SATURDAY March 27 7 AM

WOW - I am losing it. The ride is Saturday March 27th at 7 am. Sorry about the confusion.

The rest of this newsletter is the same as the on I just sent. The bike ride is Saturday on the river.

Meet at Reno High, park in the school parking lot on Booth. This will be an easy River Bike Path ride. Next week we will look at going to Verdi or perhaps Red Rock. I am heading out to Red Rock today.

If you have not ridden yet jump on this ride. I rode the path last week and it is all open. 16 mile flat ride and perhaps some coffee and bread at the Great Harvest Bread when we are done.

I know some of you might be coming from Sparks. Meet us on the trail. If you got your Poker Run shirts from last year then please wear them. I just meet Jason at the Silver Peak, had to stop on the way home to replenish my body, and he asked about the shirt. Well now he is already registered for the next Poker Run. Besides, we will be able to see you.

Two Night Stay at Harrah's Reno Hotel and Casino with Two Tickets for the current show in Sammy's Showroom. $180 Value.

Cruiser Bike Donated by Kiwanis Bike Program.

Tickets to Reno Big Horns Basketball game for next year.

Two and maybe one more Kids Bikes. This will be a special raffle with only the children who are riding with their parent/guardian will have a chance to win. Their paid entry form is their ticket for the drawing.

Two cases of Fat Tire - Compliments of the McNulty Family.

Two Cases of Beer - Compliments of Ben's Fine Wine & Spirits.

Two Gift Certificates to the Rail City Ale House.

Working on one or two bikes for the grand prizes.

I know the list is not where I want it but I am confident that the list will grow over the next five weeks.

This was a great ride! It was well organized, had friendly riders, and a relaxed ride for a great donation. I can't wait for this year's ride to be even bigger!

If you participated in the Poker Run last year could you please go to Fat Boy Biking Poker Run Reviews and put in a review of the event. I think if people read some reviews that it will help persuade them to join us this May. I know this is a local event but last year we had eight people from out of state join us on our Poker Run.

May 21, 2010 - Bike to Work Day

This looks like a week long event. I will try to get our group in and promote this as we get closer.

Chico Wildflower - April 26, 2010

We have two rooms reserved. I know three of us are going as a group. Others have said they are going but getting their own accommodations. If you do go wear your fat boy shirt from the poker run to promote our ride.

There are a few of us going to this event. This is an awesome biking adventure. Rides range from 65 to 100 miles in the hills to 15 to 60 miles on the flat land. Early Registration is suggested and that is not a joke. Last year I was stupid enough to wait till the day of the event and they would not let me register because the event was full. I still rode the race but if I had problem or wanted some refreshments - I was on my own.

What makes this such an adventure? Last year registration was full which is unbelievable when you consider that they had 3,500 registered riders and I know of at least one who biked it on his own.

3,500 people on a bike in one area, all starting within two hours of each other was a great sight.

If you are interested in car pooling let me know. Some of us are looking at driving down the morning of and staying there Sunday night. Some of us are looking at going down the day before and coming back after the race. Right now we have five going. Maybe more!

I got the finger shoes and really like them. I am down 11 pounds, yes I am a fat boy, need to lose 10 more before I really hit the running. Did sprints with the shoes on and my legs were killing me. Chris is running this event for our staff and he is setting up twittering and donations for the run to benefit Dilworth. More details to follow.
