Upcoming Events to Ride In

Firefighter Poker Pedal - July 31, 2010

All proceeds go to benefit the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. It will be on July 31 and start down at Great Basin Brewery - Reno - south of town. Maps of the ride will be available on the day of the ride, but stops will include Great Basin Brewing, Clarys Bar and Grill, Ceol Irish Pub, Foleys, and Silver Peak. People can register online at Active.com. Prices for best hand will be a Cruiser bike for best hand Male and Female. Registration is $20.00 and there will be a raffle for some other good prizes. Ride starts at noon.

If you are in town please try to attend and wear your Fat Boy Poker Run shirts. The guy running this called me for suggestions- he attended our first Poker Run. I told him that I would pass along the information and hope that our Poker Run participants would support his ride. I have donated a Fat Boy Sweatshirt for a donation.

I am looking forward to it because I do not have to be in charge!

September 18th - Fat Boy Poker Run

Reno Bike Project is in. They will be running the Verdi loop for us this September. The plan is if you want to ride the 40 mile course you will be leaving around 9 am from O'Skis (with your first card) then head out to Verdi. You should be getting back to Amendment 21 - Imperial Bar around noon and join the rest of the riders for the trip back to O'Skis.

The long ride will have two rest stops and be fully supported with a SWAG Wagon/Truck. So if you run into troubles we will get you back into Reno.

Of course we will still have our traditional 10 mile ride and hope that you will be there to support our cause. Pass along the information to all of your friends - our goal is to have 350 riders this fall.

I have started the process of getting the donations together. I still am working on having Victorian Closed for the start of the Poker Ride.

I still have not followed up on the non-profit license. I did get a few emails but have not had the time to get this done. That is my next goal.
