Fat Boy Member Ride August 1, 2009This is really the only reason I am sending this out today. This Saturday we are going on a very flat, easy ride along the Truckee River. Please join us and please do not let you ability or lack of keep you from riding with us.We will meet at Reno High, please park on the Booth Side Parking lot. We will leave at 8 am and go along the river until the end of Sparks and come back. Before finishing the ride we plan on having coffee or if you are like me, some food, at Dreamers, which is along the river in Downtown Reno. Total distance is 17 miles of easy riding with 13 miles of it on the River Path. Prize List for Fat Boy Poker RunNothing new this week. I will continue to search for prizes. If you have any ideas, pass them my way. I hope this is only 30% of the list by the time the event starts. So far we have:Trek 21 inch Classic Cruiser donated from Scheels. RoadMaster Mountain Bike donated from Wal-Mart. Two night stay at the Grand Sierra Resort - good for any days. Dinner for Two at Toucan Charlies at the Atlantis. Room for Two at Harrahs Casino in Reno. Good for Sunday - Thursday only. Black Bar Mitts for a road bike. Reno Aces 4 Pack good to use next year on any Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday game. Other prizes we have in the works are: Gift Certificates from the participating bars. Messenger Bag and assorted items from New Belgium. Assorted sweatshirts - Badger - Fat Boy Biking. Other items that I don't want to list just in case they do not come in. I will keep you posted. Event Reviews:The ride last week was at a slow rate for most of us. It was nice just to cruise and talk. The back hill on the Verdi Loop is short but pretty steep. A couple of us had to walk part of it.Riders of all abilities can ride the Verdi Route. We hope you can join us this weekend. We Need Your HelpI know I said this would be sent once or twice a month but in the beginning I think I will be sending it out more often just because this is all new information. I do ask that you forward this and talk it up to get your friends to join. The goal is to have over 500 members join this year. Help reach the goal and get your friends to join.Please pass the word on our first Poker Run. The goal is to have 100 people to preregister and over 200 at the event. You can preregister at:
